WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER TREATMENT

IMMEADIATELY AFTER:

  • Yawning, licking and chewing, head shaking, muscle twitching and bending around to itch their sides

  • Drinking more water than normal

  • More active bowel movements

  • Generally more relaxed and maybe even drowsy looking

THE NEXT DAY:

  • More fluid movement

  • Possibly slightly tender muscles

  • Small behavioural issues may have stopped

  • More relaxed

AFTERCARE

  • Ensure lots of drinking water is readily available to aid toxins to be flushed

  • Allowing 72 hours for muscles to settle is preferable before being ridden, however it is still possible to ride immediately after unless it is the horse's first massage as they can be a little sore straight after

  • Turnout is also preferable to allow circulation to aid removal of toxins released after treatment

  • Stretches are recommended and shown after treatment to help aid and maintain suppleness and flexibility
